During an extremely dark time in my life, I decided I wanted to close out my improv-journal with an improvisation on a full grand piano and a set text that would be used to guide me through the improvisation. Instead of traditional notation, I simply used words and somewhat vague descriptions of musical ideas to show a linear progression through each part. Originally written in five parts, I titled this collection "The Suicide Notes" and only ended up completing three parts before being asked to leave the recital hall at LSU. David Polk was my recording engineer and we reserved the hall for over an hour, but were interrupted by an unscheduled rehearsal that needed to take place. These pieces are very personal and while there are moments that do no have any noticeable cohesive tendencies, I do enjoy many of the moments that do. Thanks for listening.
